Callahan and his mixture of rock, indie and folk

Posted by: Hostal Marenostrum at 2011-05-09

Hostal Mare Nostrum wants to announce a concert of Bill Callahan (many of you probably know him as Smog), who will be landing in Barcelona on May 23rd with the intention of introducing his new album "Apocalypse" and offer his best live rock-folk music.

Callahan can be considered the precursor of the lo-fi genre, born from alternative rock, and one of the best in this genre in recent decades. This musician born in Maryland recorded his first album in 1988 and this one was followed by many more and very good, but experts agree that the penultimate one (Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle) has been the best of his career. We should wait and see if “Apocalypse” can beat this masterpiece.

His Barcelona concert will be the second one out of three in Spain. The first one will be in San Sebastian on 21st, then Barcelona on 23rd,then in Madrid on 24th and finally in Seville on May 25th.
