1. What is the best way to come to the Hostal and the cost ?
From BCN airport “El Prat” :
By bus :
From the main exit of the aiport you will find a bus station for the AEROBUS that connects the airport to “PLAZA CATALUNYA”, on the top of Las Ramblas in 40-45 minutes. The ticket costs 5.10 euros (single) from Terminal 2. From there, you walk down Las Ramblas (15 minutes) and you will see the San Pau st on your right hand-side. Or, you enter in the subway at Cataluny square and take Line 3 (green line) to “ZONA UNIVERSITARIA” and stop at “LICEU”, the next stop. Using the exit “Ramblas-Treatro Liceu” you shall arrive in front of the San Pau street. The entrance of the Hostal Mare Nostrum is on the San Pau st, number 2.
By Train :
From the airport, you shall take the train (R10) untill the station “SANTS ESTACIÒ”. From there you shall commute to the subway line 3 (green line) to "TRINITAT NOVA" and make your final stop at “LICEU” station. Using the exit “Ramblas-Treatro Liceu” you shall arrive in front of the San Pau street. The entrance of the Hostal Mare Nostrum is on the San Pau st, number 2.
From Girona airport (Ryanair)
From the aiport, you need to buy a bus ticket for the Barcelona Bus that connects Girona to Barcelona-Nord Estaciò. It costs : 14 euros one way / 21 euros return. Then, from the bus station in Barcelona, you shall take the main exit ans find yourself in front of a metro station “ARC DE TRIOMF” (line 1 - red). You take the subway direction “HOSPITAL DE BELLVITGE” and go out at “PLAZA CATALUNYA”. From there you shall commute to the subway line 3 (green line) to ZONA UNIVERTIRARIA and make your final stop at “LICEU” station. Using the exit “Ramblas-Teatro Liceu” you shall arrive in front of the San Pau street. Or, from there PLAZA CATALUNYA, you can exit the subway, walk down Las Ramblas (5 minutes) and you will see the San Pau st on your right hand-side. The entrance of the Hostal Mare Nostrum is on the San Pau st, number 2.
2. When do we have to make the payment for the reservation ?
The payment of your reservation will be done at the Hostal during the
check-in process. We will ask you what type of payment you prefer (cask
or credit card). In case it is with credit card, it can be a different
one than the one you used to garantee your reservation.
3. Why do you need the credit card number and expiration date ?
The credit card number is needed to garantee the reservation. No charge
will be done on it untill you come and make the payment.
4. Is it possible to arrive before/after the official check-in time ?
The diference beetwen check-out time (12:00) and the official check-in time (14:00) allow us to manage ourselves a frame
used for the cleaning of the rooms. Before, depending on circumstances
(early cleaning) you might enjoy the room a little earlier than planned.
After, the Hotel is open 24h and we know that plains do not care about
check-in time so we keep your room untill you arrive. This why we need
you to tell us about your estimated time of arrival (at the airport or
the Hostal). If you planned to arrive after 18:00, please advise us (mail
or phone call)
5. Can you keep our luggages before check-in/after check-out ?
We do have a special locked and secured room for luggages storing so
you do not have to worry about them in case you arrive early or leave
6. How can I/we cancel the reservation without beeing charged ?
For the bookings done from our webpage:
You just need to send us an email 48h prior to your check-in date and there will be no charges.
For the bookings done from other portals :
You need to cancel your reservation from the same portal 48h prior to your check-in date and there will be no charge.

7. What does the prices include ?
The prices given in our webpage includes Breakfast and Taxes so the price
you will pay at the check-in is the one you saw when you did your reservation
(it also appears on your reservation confirmation).
8. What is already in the room (shampoo, soap, sheets, towels) ?
The rooms are provided with fresh sheets, one pillow per person, towels (they cannot be taken out of the Hotel), shampoo, gel-soap and hairdryer.
9. Where is the closest car-park ? How much does it cost ? Is it possible
The closest underground car park:
First crossroad on the Hospital st. (coming from Las Ramblas), or on the Junta de Comerç st. behind our Hostal.
Parkings cost : approx 28 euros per day (24h)
10. How can make a special request about the room (2 pillows, high floor, ...) ?
During the booking process on our webpage, you will have the opportunity
to leave us some comments about request or special questions you might
have. We will do our best to answer you as soon as possible.
11. Is it possible to add an extra bed in the room ?
There is no possibility to add an extra bed in the rooms (for one adult or child). You can bring your own bed if you are travelling with a baby or ask us for availability (babies are privileged). However, the baby bed will be charged 20€ per night.
12. Is the Hostal adapted to disabled personns – is there an elevator ?
Our Hostal is not adapted to disabled persons.
We are equiped with an elevator but only from the first floor (reception) to the uppers floors.
13. What type of Credit Card are accepted ?
We accept most of debit card or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro), the DINNERS.
We do accept American Express for the reservation BUT not for the payment.
14. Can I bring my pet with me to the hostal?
We accept pets under request as long as they are small (maximum 10kg) and quiet. They must always be accompanied. They cannot be all alone in the rooms. Guide dogs are also very welcome, of course!
