GREC Festival Barcelona 2010

On June 13 will start the 34th edition of the Grec Festival in Barcelona, the main event of the city with theater, dance, music and a reference in the European calendar of festivals, and it will run until August 2th. Born in 1976 from a group of actors and directors who decided to renew the use of Teatre Grec (Greek) facilities in Montjuïc with innovative proposals. Since then, the large number of shows has forced the festival to spread through the theaters of the city like Mercat de les Flors, Teatre Lliure, Sala Muntaner, Centre for Contemporary Culture (CCCB), Teatro Romea, Teatre Nacional de Catalunya (TNC) and other private venues such as Sala Beckett. In addition, activities are scheduled outdoors in the Plaza del Rey, near the Ramblas. Although opening ceremonies are always held in Teatre Grec. This time will premiere Aeschylus's Prometheus, versioning by Heiner Müller, directed by Portaceli Carme and starring Carme Elias, in collaboration with the saxophonist Dani Nel.lo.
